Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks his first title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court from March of the previous year.

Victory also means he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.

The player's defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.

However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an improved service.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional title, gained dominance to create a decider.

The opponent rescued four early-game chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
